CTTC conducts fresh drive to find militant den in Kulaura

A team of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) branch of police has started a new drive to find a militant's den in the remote hilly area of Kormodha union under Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar district.

CTTC chief Md Asaduzzaman is leading the drive which started at around 7am on Tuesday. The team also brought along three militants captured Monday.

Moulvibazar Superintendent of Police Monjur Rahman confirmed the matter.

On Monday, 17 Seventeen suspected members of the new militant group 'Imam Mahmuder Kafela' were captured and held by locals at the Kormodha area of Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar.

They were detained from Asgarbad CNG stand and later held at the local Union Parishad (UP) office. They were later interrogated by police and a CTTC team from Dhaka. It was found that they were members of the militant group.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) branch of police conducted a drive at a house in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar and detained eight alleged militants. Among them, 5 were female and 3 were male.
