One shot during BNP-police clash in Kanchpur

Jubo Dal activist Alamin Mollah was shot when BNP activists clashed with police at Kanchpur of Sonargaon in Narayanganj.

The clash took place in Kanchpur bus stand area on Saturday afternoon. At that time, the police fired tear gas and rubber bullets to bring the situation under control.

The clash forced to halt traffic on Dhaka-Sylhet and Dhaka-Chittagram highways, creating a huge tailback.

District BNP general secretary Golam Phuk Khokon said, "The police started baton charge on us when we were peacefully taking a position on the side of the highway. Tear shells and bullets were fired targeting our rally, leaving many of BNP men injured.”

Contacted, Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police Sheikh Billah Hossain said this matter will be informed later.
