India to stand by the progress of Bangladesh: Pranay Verma

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma on Saturday said India will stand by Bangladesh's progress. 

He said, “Bangladesh today is on the path of progress and development. India stands by the people of Bangladesh in this journey. India will have the support of Bangladesh as it moves forward for a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive future.”

Verma also praised Bangabandhu's contributions to Bangladesh's nation-building and independence.

He claimed that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's life and beliefs continue to direct these unique linkages as India and Bangladesh work together to create a better and more prosperous future for their people.

The high commissioner also gave recognition to the Bangladesh-India Friendship Society (BIFS), which promotes cross-cultural connections between the two countries.

Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma took part as a special guest in a discussion commemorating the 48th anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's martyrdom organized by the BIFS.

The discussion was held at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the National Museum in the capital where AKM Mozammel Haque, Minister of Liberation War Affairs, was present as the chief guest at the ceremony.
