4 DSCC wards declared dengue 'red zone'

Four wards of the Dhaka South City Corporation have been declared dengue 'red zones.' Inhabitants of wards 5, 22, 53, and 60 are at grave risk of being infected with dengue.

DSCC spokesperson Abu Naser told the Daily Samakal that out of all 75 wards of the DSCC, more than 10 dengue-infected patients were found in those dour wards, hence the wards were declared red zones. Anti-mosquito drives were strengthened in those wards.

Ward no 5 consists of Mayakanon, Sobujbag, North Mugdapara Deputy Colony, Ahmedbag, North and South Rajarbag, Kodomotola Basabo and North Basabo areas.

Ward no 22 consists of Moneshwar Road, Moneshwar Lane, Baddanagar Lane, Borhanpur Lane, Kulal Mohon Lane, Nobipur Lane, Hajaribag Lane, Hajarbag Road, Kalunagar, Enayetganj, Gonoktuli, Bhangi Colony, and Nilambar Saha road.

Meanwhile, ward no 53 consists of South Jurain Muradpur holding 1-46, 24/3, Easy Jurain road number 1, Faridabad, and Kadamtali.

Ward no 60 consists of Nurpur-1, Nurpur-2, Paterbag, Muktodhara, Islambag, Polashpur, Jonotabagm Smritidhara, South Rayerbag, Merajnagar, Modinabag, South Jonotabag, 1744 Polashpor.
