20,000 posts remain vacant in Bangladesh Railway

Nearly 20,000 posts now remain vacant in Bangladesh Railway in different categories.

Railway Minister M Nurul Islam Sujan made the disclosure while replying to a query made by treasury bench lawmaker M Abdul Latif of Chattogram-11 during the question-answer session at the Jatiya Sangsad onMonday.

The minister said some 2,880 persons have already been employed in the Railway during last nine months in different categories.

With a view to reducing the manpower crisis, the recruitment process is going on, said Sujan.

He told the parliament that the manpower crisis will be resolved shortly.

The parliament session began with Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
