Lavrov pays deep homage to Bangabandhu

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday paid deep homage to the memories of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the city in the morning. 

He also signed the visitors' book after making a tour inside the Museum. 

Lavrov arrived in Dhaka last evening on a two-day visit, making the first visit to Bangladesh by any Russian Foreign Minister since independence. 

The Russian Foreign Minister paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this morning and held a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen last evening.

The Russian Foreign Minister will attend the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10 after completing his visit to Bangladesh today.
