BRTC launches bus service on Dhaka Elevated Expressway

The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) on Monday launched a bus service on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. Eight BRTC buses will run from Farmgate to the Airport as a 'Shuttle Service" on the expressway.

Road Secretary ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, along with the BRTC chairman, launched the service from Manik Mia Avenue. The first bus left Farmgate at 11:25am.

BRTC Chairman Tazul Islam told the Daily Samakal that the bus service would start from Khejurbagan of Manik Mia Avenue. It will use the Bijoy Sarani Flyover to get on the expressway. The bus will run non-stop till Airport, where it will get off the expressway.

From Farmgate to Airport, the fare has been fixed as Tk 35. But the fare to Jasim Uddin More of Uttara is Tk 40.

The bus will turn at Jasim Uddin More and use the Kawla ramp to get on the expressway again and run non-stop till Farmgate. It will get off the expressway using the Farmate ramp and return to Khejurbagan. The fare from Kawla to Khejurbagan was fixed at Tk 30.
