21 more people die from dengue

At least 21 more people died from dengue disease in the last 24 hours as of 8:00am on Wednesday, according to data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A record outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease hit the entire country.

At the same time, at least 3,015 dengue patients were hospitalised in the 24-hour period, it said.

So far, dengue has claimed at least 867 lives this year and nearly 1,76,810 were infected.

A total of 10,263 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country, said DGHS data.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,65,680 patients have been released from hospitals.
