3,950 MTs of Hilsha to be exported to India

Some 3,950 metric tons (MTs) of Hilsha will be exported to neighbouring India ahead of the Durga Puja.

The Ministry of Commerce has given permission in this regard on Wednesday.

Each of the 79 exporting enterprises would be able to export 50 metric tons of Hilsha, said the ministry.

No exporter will be allowed to export more than the quantity mentioned in the permission letter, it said.

The deadline for exporting Hilsha will be in force until October 30.
