Adilur, Elan appeal against jail term

Adilur Rahman Khan and ASM Nasiruddin Elan, secretary and director of Odhikar, a human rights organisation, have appealed with the High Court against the two-year prison sentences they received in a 2013 case.

On Monday, Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan, the lawyer for Adilur and Elan, presented the High Court with an appeal and a request for release.

The lawyer informed the reporters that in addition to filing an appeal and a bail petition, they had also submitted a petition requesting for the suspension of the fine that had been imposed in the case.
