Police won't face image crisis for US visa policy: IGP

The police force will not face any 'image crisis' due to the US visa policy recently imposed on Bangladesh ahead of the next national elections, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun.

He made the comments while talking to journalists after attending a seminar at Tourist Police Headquarters in the city's Topkhana road.

Dhaka University (DU) Professor Masudur Rahman presented the keynote paper at the seminar titled 'Combating Future Challenges in Tourism Security: Bangladesh Tourist Police Perspectives'.

Regarding the country's law and order situation, the police chief said the law and order situation is completely under control.

About the police's responsibility during elections, he said police will properly discharge their duty that the Election Commission will give them during the elections.

Tourist Police Chief Additional Inspector General of Police Habibur Rahman chaired the event.
