Bangladesh will get $4.5 billion from the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in the next five years, according to a press release of the finance ministry.
The ministry said that the funds will be spent on climate-related projects and other sectors in the country.
However, the government has urged the AIIB to loosen the loan's requirements.
Bangladesh has so far received loans totaling $3.27 billion from the AIIB for 18 projects.
