Dengue death toll crosses 1,000-mark

At least 17 more people died from dengue in 24 hours as of 8:00am on Sunday, according to data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

At the same time, at least 2,882 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country, it said.

This year, dengue has so far claimed at least 1006 lives.

No vaccine or drug is used so far to fight the dengue fever.
