Police not worried on US visa policy: DMP

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that American visa policy is not a matter of concern of Bangladesh Police.

“A country has announced its visa policy. It's its own thing,” the DMP chief made the comment while replying to journalist's question at Meet the Press at DMP Media Centre on Minto Road in the capital at 11 am on Monday.

Quoting the recently retired Chief Justice, Habibur Rahman said, “I have never been to that country and I have no desire to go. So, I have never seen anything to worry about.”

He said, “Election is the foundation of democratic state system. Whatever is necessary will be done by the DMP so that the people can go to the polling stations without any fear and can cast vote.”

When asked about the personal crime of the policemen, the DMP commissioner said if there is a complaint against any member of police, stern action will be taken against him.
