Maritime ports asked to hoist cautionary signal 3

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised all maritime ports of the country to hoist cautionary signal number 3 in anticipation of squally weather.

"Under the influence of active monsoon, deep convection is continuing over North Bay. Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh," reads a BMD warning issued on Wednesday.

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted Local Cautionary Signal No Three (R) Three.

The BMD also advised all fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution.
