Dr Yunus at ACC office for questioning

Nobel laureate professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has arrived at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to be questioned in a case filed for embezzling Tk 25.22 crore of Grameen Telecom Welfare Fund.

He reached the ACC headquarters at the capital's Segunbagicha at around 9:30am on Thursday. He is being questioned regarding the case, confirmed his lawyer Barrister Abdullah Al Mamun.

On May 30, ACC Deputy Director Gulshan Anwar Pradhan filed a case accusing Prof Yunus and 12 others of embezzling Tk 25.22 crore of Grameen Telecom Welfare Fund.

Among the 13 accused in the case, three were questioned at the ACC office on Wednesday. They are Grameen Telecom directors Nazneen Sultana, Nurjahan Begum and SM Hazzatul Islam Latifi. ACC head office deputy director Gulshan Anwar Pradhan interrogated them.
