PK Halder gets 22 years in jail

A Dhaka court has sentenced the former managing director of NRB Global Bank Proshanta Kumar (PK) Halder to 22 years in jail in two separate cases.

Judge Mohammad Nazrul Islam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-10 gave the verdict on Sunday. PK Halder got 12 years in a case filed over amassing illegal wealth and 10 years in a money laundering case, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Mir Abdus Salam confirmed.

The court also sentenced 13 others in the money laundering case to 3 years in prison each. Among the 13, Sukumar Mridha, Anindita Mridha, Avantika Baral, and Shankha Bepari were present at the court.
