Agargaon-Motijheel Metro Rail opening on October 29

The inauguration of Agargaon-Motijheel part of Dhaka Metro Rail MRT Line-6 is now on October 29 instead of October 20.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to open the much-hyped metro line in the busy mega city of Dhaka.

On Monday, the director (administration) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, the construction and maintenance company of metro rail, Mohammad Abdur Rauf confirmed the date to the media.

With the opening of Agargaon-Motijheel section, commuters will avail the service from Uttara to Motijheel in just 40 minutes. 

The first phase of the first ever metro rail from Uttara to Agargaon was inaugurated on December 28.

Each metro train can move at a speed of 100 to 110 km with 2,300 passengers.
