Dengue deaths cross 1,109 this year

At least 13 dengue patients died at different hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours till 8 am on Monday, taking the death toll to 1,109 this year, said a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

At the same time, 2,555 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the nation.

A total of 281 dengue patients died last year, the release said, adding that Bangladesh recorded 179 dengue related deaths in 2019, seven deaths in 2020 and 105 deaths in 2021.
