Low pressure likely over Bay: Met office

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the central part of the Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a weather forecast on Wednesday.

The weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, according to the met office forecast for the next 24 hours. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.

The country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 35.7 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda and the minimum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 20.1 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

Meanwhile, as the monsoon has receded, the country's maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am Wednesday was recorded at 07 millimetres (mm) at Dhaka.

The sun sets at 05:30pm on Wednesday and rises at 05:58am on Thursday.
