Bangladesh to observe one-day state mourning

Bangladesh will observe a one-day state mourning on Saturday, commemorating the Palestinians killed in a hospital strike in Gaza.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the announcement at an event inaugurating 150 bridges in the capital on Thursday.

The national flag will be kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions and educational institutions and Bangladesh missions abroad in observance of the mourning day.

The PM has also called for offering special prayers for the people in Gaza.
