PM mourns death of lawmaker Shahjahan Mia

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of the Member of Parliament from Patuakhali Sadar constituency and former State Minister for Religious Affairs Advocate Md Shahjahan Mia.

In a condolence message, the premier said Shahjahan Mia was a devoted leader of Bangladesh Awami League and he faithfully discharged various responsibilities of the party, including President of Patuakhali District unit Awami League.

"At his death, the party lost a skilled politician and I lost a loyal political comrade," she said.

The premier prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
