7 arrested over heist on Dhaka Elevated Expressway

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested seven people, including the mastermind, who robbed of Tk 48 lakh posing themselves as RAB officials, in the capital's elevated expressway.

The arrestees are Sagar, Abu Yusuf, Sabuj Mia and Didar Munshi along with three others, said DMP Assistant Commissioner (Media) Newton Das.

On Friday night, they were arrested from different parts of the country, including the capital, by the Gulshan Division of metropolitan intelligence police. Later it was informed media in a message on Saturday night.

On October 10, a robbery of Tk 48 lakh took place on the elevated expressway in front of Prime Dental College in Khilkhet area of the capital. Out of the heist money, Tk20 lakh have been recovered so far.

The next day, Sohail Ahmed Sultan, the owner of Mother Textile Mills Limited filed a robbery case against unknown persons with Khilkhet police station.

Later, a team of DB Gulshan Division started investigating the case.
