PM mourns Syed Abul Hossain's death

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Syed Abul Hossain, former Communications Minister and Awami League (AL)’s former lawmaker of Madaripur-3 constituency.

In a message of condolence, the premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Syed Abul Hossain breathed his last around 2:05 am on Wednesday at the age of 72. He was undergoing treatment at the United Hospital in the capital. 

He is survived by wife, two daughters, a lot of well-wishers and admirers to mourn his death.

Syed Abul Hossain was born in Madaripur in 1951. In 1991, he won the fifth national parliamentary election and was elected as a member of parliament. He then served as a Member of Parliament in the seventh, eighth and ninth parliamentary elections. From 2009 to 2012, he served as the Minister of Communications of the Awami League government.

He was very popular for his social activities in his area.
