5-member committee to probe Khawaja Tower fire

Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) has formed a five-member probe committee to investigate the fire incident at Khawaja Tower in the capital's Mohakhali area.

The committee will submit a full investigation report within fifteen working days, acting officer of the media cell of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence Shahjahan Sikder told BSS on Friday.

FSCD (Operation and Maintenance) Lt Colonel Tajul Islam Chowdhury and Fire Service deputy director Md Salah Uddin were made committee president and member secretary respectively.

Other members of the committee include- fire service assistant director Md Anwarul Haque Dhaka, Zone-2, deputy assistant director Md Tanharul Islam Dhaka, Zone-2 and senior station officer of Tejgaon Fire Station Md Najim Uddin Sarker.

The fire incident took place on the 12th floor of Khawaja Tower at around 5pm on Thursday (October 26).
