Few public transports on roads, commuters in Dhaka suffer

Several important roads in Dhaka were nearly empty of transports on Saturday morning. The lack of public transport caused suffering for commuters.

The lack of transport can be attributed to simultaneous rallies to be held by the Awami League (AL) and BNP in the city on Saturday afternoon.

Very few buses were seen to head off from Gabtali. Many commuters started walking towards their destination. The number of Rickshaw and CNG-run autorickshaw were also sparse.

Many commuters were waiting for buses at Kalyanpur and Shyamoli bus stands. Farmgate was uncharacteristically free of traffic congestion. On the other hand, quite a few buses were seen operating through the Saat Rasta area of Tejgaon.
