Biden's so-called advisor sent to jail

Zahidul Islam Mian alias Arefy, the so-called advisor of US President Joe Biden, has been sent to prison through the court.

According to the passport, his real name is Zahidul Islam Mian. He is Bangladeshi-American.

Inspector (Investigation) of Paltan Police Station Sentu Mia said Zahidul Islam Mian was produced before the court on Monday afternoon. Later the court ordered to send him to jail, he added.

While trying to depart the country, the individual posing as the "advisor to US President Joe Biden" was arrested by the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

DMP’s DB Chief Additional Commissioner Harun Or Rashid confirmed The Daily Samakal that Mian Zahidul Islam Arefy was held at the airport on Sunday afternoon.

At the BNP headquarters in Dhaka on Saturday, leaders of the party presented Mian Arefy as Joe Biden's advisor. 

At a press conference that followed, he was seen sitting at the BNP office in Nayapaltan with BNP leader Ishraque Hossain - son of former Dhaka city mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka.

It is learnt that Arefy's full name is Zahidul Islam Arefy, alias Bellal, lives in Maryland of USA. Born in Ullapara Upazila of Sirajganj, Arefy visits to Bangladesh occasionally.
