More vehicles, commuters seen on Dhaka roads

The number of buses and other public transports seemed to have increased on the roads of Dhaka on Wednesday morning, the second of a three-day countrywide blockade enforced by BNP and like-minded political parties.

Aside from vehicles, the number of commuters was also higher than Tuesday.

CNG-run autorickshaws and rickshaws were operating as usual on the roads of Khilkhet, Mohakhali, Tejgaon, Bijoy Sarani, Farmgate, Kalabagan, Karwan Bazar, and Mirpur areas.

A lesser than usual number of buses were seen on the roads. Many private cars were seen taking the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. The intensity of traffic congestion was also less in the morning.

Many commuters were seen waiting for buses at Farmgate. Trains were running as usual through the Tejgaon Rail Station.

Members of law enforcement agencies were seen patrolling various areas of the city including Banani, Panthapath, SAARC Fountain, Shewrapara, Khejurbagan, and Paltan.
