Protesting RMG workers block Mirpur roads

RMG workers blocked Mirpur-1 and Mirpur-2 roads to demand a pay rise on Wednesday. This is their second day of movement.

Workers armed with sticks held a demonstration in front of the Muktijoddha Market at Mirpur-1 in the morning. All the establishments were closed in the vicinity.

The workers allegedly attacked journalists or anyone seen recording the scene with their phone cameras in the Mirpur-10 and Mirpur-11 area.

The workers claimed that Awami League activists attacked their previous peaceful demonstrations, but the media spread misinformation about the incidents. Therefore, they are no longer allowing anyone to capture photos or videos of the demonstration.

No statement from the police was available on the matter as of yet.
