Hajj to cost Tk 92,459 less in 2024

The government has announced the Hajj packages for 2024, reducing the cost by Tk 92,450 compared to the last year.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan on Thursday announced two Hajj packages – Tk 5,78,840 for the general package and Tk 9,36,320 for the special package – at a press briefing at the secretariat.

He said the cost of the general package for Hajj under the government arrangement has been fixed at Tk 5,78,840, which was Tk 6,71,320 in the last year.

Faridul, however, said the cost of the newly introduced special package under the government arrangement has been fixed at Tk 9,36,320.

A total of 1,27,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh could perform hajj in 2024, he said, adding that of them 10,198 pilgrims will get the opportunity to go under government arrangement and the remaining 1,17,000 will have to go under private management.

In line with the government Hajj packages, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) will announce their packages for Hajj in 2024.
