Shamsuzzaman Dudu on 3-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed BNP vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu on three-day remand in a case filed over attack on the official residence of Chief Justice (CJ) on October 28.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin passed the order on Monday.

Earlier in the day, police produced the BNP leader before the court and pleaded to place him on five-day remand.

Dudu was made arrest by detective branch of police from his sister's house in the early hours of Monday.

Following the attack on the residence of the chief justice, police filed the case with Ramna Police Station against 59 leaders and activists of BNP, including its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, vice-chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, Abdul Awal Mintoo and Shamsuzzaman Dudu.
