EC withholds Lakshmipur-3, Brahmanbaria-2 by-polls results

The Election Commission (EC) has withheld the gazette notification of the results of by-polls to Lakshmipur-3 and Brahmanbaria-2 due to allegations of irregularities.

EC Secretary Md Jahangir made the disclosure at Nirbachan Bhaban in the city's Agargaon on Tuesday afternoon.

He said the commission will investigate into the allegations and decision will be taken on the basis of probe report.

On Sunday last, the voting was held in the two constituencies.
