Anti-drug drives: DMP arrests 25 in the capital

Members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several anti-drug drives arrested 25 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the last 24 hours.

The drives were carried out simultaneously at different parts of the metropolis from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday, according to a DMP release.

During the anti-drug drives, police seized 1,050 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets, 4 gm of heroin, 17 kg 100 gm of cannabis (ganja), and 60 bottles of Phensedyl, the release added.

Police filed 19 separate cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
