Inland water transport

The Bangladesh Interior Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has suspended all river vessel operations on both interior and coastal routes due to cyclonic storm Midhili.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Chairman Commodore Arif Ahmed Mostafa made the announcement on Friday morning.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Organization (BMD) had earlier stated in a special bulletin that the cyclone may pass across the coastal region in the evening between Mongla Port and Khepupara.
