Application deadline for foreign polls observers extended to Dec 7

The deadline for foreign organisations and journalists to observe the 12th Jatiya Sangsad election has been extended by the Election Commission (EC) to December 7, as four organizations from twelve different nations have already applied by the previously scheduled deadline of Tuesday.

As per Ashok Kumar Debnath, the Election Commission's additional secretary, approximately thirty observers from twelve countries, representing four organisations, have applied so far.

Of them, 11 from African Electoral, four from South Asian Development Forum, five from International Republican Institute (IRI) of the US and four from European Union (EU).
