Peter Haas returns to Dhaka

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter D Haas has returned to Dhaka after his visit to Colombo in Sri Lanka. 

He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:30 am on Monday. 

The US diplomat did not respond when reporters asked to speak to him after getting off the plane.

The US has put insistence on free, fair, peaceful and participatory elections in Bangladesh and its visa ban policy remain in place. 

In such a situation, the US ambassador visited Colombo on November 15, the day after the announcement of the schedule of the 12th national elections. Since then, various talks started about leaving Dhaka.
