BNP's 24hr blockade underway

The BNP and its like-minded parties are observing a 24-hour blockade to press home their demand for the immediate resignation of the ruling Awami League government and to scrape the 'one-sided' election schedule.

Meanwhile, the party has also called for a nationwide morning-evening hartal on Thursday.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at a virtual press conference on Monday.

The same programme was called, among others, by the Ganatantra Mancha, 12 Daliyo Jote, Jatiyatabadi Samamona Jote, LDP, Gano Odhikar Parishad, Bangladesh Labour Party, Bam Ganatantrik Oikyo, Gono Forum, and People's Party, as well as Jamaat-e-Islami.
