7 Bagerhat men sentenced to death

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT-1) on Thursday sentenced seven men from Bagerhat to death in a Crimes Against Humanity Case. Justice Md Shahinur Islam, chairman of the three-judge panel of the ICT-1, delivered the judgement.

Of the seven convicted, Khan Akram Hossain (60), Sheikh Md Ukiluddin (62) and Md Mokbul Mollah (79) are in jail now.

The other four convicted, Khan Ashraf Ali (65), Rustam Ali Mollah 970), Sheikh Idris Ali (61) and Sheikh Rafiqul Islam alias Babul (64) are fugitives.

On August 1, 2018, the tribunal framed seven charges of crimes against humanity against 11 accused in the case. Names of the four accused have been dropped from the case as they have already died.
