Revenue collection witnesses 14.36pc growth

In the fiscal year 2024, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) recorded a 14.36% rise in revenue from income tax, customs, and VAT from July to October, totaling Tk1,03,976 crore.

Customs revenue collection during this four-month period was Tk 32,668 crore, VAT revenue was Tk 40,048.62 crore, and income tax and travel tax revenue was Tk 31,259 crore, according to NBR data. 

Tk 1,23,185 crore was the target amount to be collected between July and October.

The NBR has set a revenue target of Tk 4,30,000 crore for the current fiscal year.
