EC nods transfers of 47 UNOs

The Election Commission has already given permission the Ministry of Public Administration to transfer 47 Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs).

20 more UNOs are also on pipeline to get approval by EC for transfer.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has extended the deadline for OC transfer proposals from December 5 to December 8, according to a statement issued by the EC on Monday.

In the first phase, around 320 Officers-in-Charge and 250 UNOs would be transferred, as said in a statement released on Monday by EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath. 

On Thursday, the Election Commission asked the Home Ministry and Public Administration Ministry to seek its permission for transferring OCs stationed in the same workplace for more than six months and UNOs stationed in the same workplace for more than a year by December 5.
