Barrister Mainul Hosein no more

Barrister Mainul Hosein, former advisor to a caretaker government, has passed away on Saturday evening. He was 83.

He breathed his last around 6:30pm while undergoing treatment at Ever Care Hospital in the capital, said his junior associate Barrister Hasan MS Azim.

According to family sources, Barrister Moinul Hosein has been suffering from cancer for a long time.

Family sources also said, Moinul's first namaz-e-janaza will be held at 10:30 am on Sunday morning at Baridhara Mosque and the second namaz-e-janaza after Johr prayers on Supreme Court premises. He will then be buried next to his parents' graves in the Azimpur graveyard in the capital.

In 2007, Barrister Moinul Hosein served as an advisor to the caretaker government led by Fakhruddin Ahmed in the Ministry of Information, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Housing and Public Works Ministry and Ministry of Lands.

Barrister Moinul is the eldest son of noted journalist and The Daily Ittefaq's founder Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah. He was born in January 1940 in Pirojpur district.

Mainul Hosein completed his graduation in Political Science from Dhaka University in 1961. Later he studied law from Middle Temple, London. He obtained his barrister-in-law degree in 1965.
