Metro stations at Bijoy Sarani, Dhaka University TSC opened

Two new metro rail stations, Bijoy Sarani and Dhaka University TSC, have opened in Dhaka city, allowing commuters to access the metro rail trains. 

With the opening of these stations, fifteen out of the seventeen planned stations on the Dhaka metro rail line are now operational, with the two remaining stations at Shahbagh and Karwan Bazar yet to be opened. 

The first train from Uttara stopped at the Bijoy Sarani station at 7:30 am on Wednesday, and the train coming from Motijheel reached Bijoy Sarani at 7:40 am. 

However, there were relatively few passengers at the stop. 

The metro rail service was initially launched on December 28, 2022, and currently, train service is available from Uttara to Agargaon from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm, but the service time is expected to be extended further.

The metro rail route spans from Uttara North station to Kamalapur.
