Dense fog likely from midnight

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said dense fog is likely to blanket the whole country from Thursday midnight. Additionally, the night temperature may rise slightly on Friday.

Meteorologist Abdur Rahman told the Daily Samakal that temperatures across the country will not change a lot till December 22 or 23. Both day and night temperatures may drop afterwards.

"Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning," reads the regular weather forecast issued Thursday.

A mild cold wave may sweep at places over the western and northwestern parts of Bangladesh.

The country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 30.7 degrees Celsius at Teknaf and the minimum temperature on Thursday was 10.3 degrees at Tetulia. The sun sets at 05:13pm on Thursday and rises at 06:33am on Friday in the capital.
