Police terms Tejgaon train fire as sabotage

A train fire in Tejgaon, Bangladesh, which resulted in the death of at least four people, is believed to have been an act of sabotage by supporters of the countrywide hartal (general strike). 

Anwar Hossain, superintendent of Dhaka Railway Police, said the police suspect that pro-blockade and hartal supporters were behind the crime. 

Various law enforcement agencies, including the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, are working to investigate the incident, he added. 

Members of the bomb disposal unit believe that petrol was used to quickly spread the fire. 

Following the incident, the opposition party BNP called for the immediate arrest of those responsible for torching the train.
