Shahbagh, Karwan Bazar metro rail stations open

Two more metro rail stations – Shahbagh and Karwan Bazar – were opened for commuters on Sunday (December 31).

For now, the duration of metro services on the Agargaon-Motijheel section will remain the same (7:10am to 11:30am), despite all 16 stations being operational from Sunday. The metro will be fully operational from morning to evening within the next three months.

On December 13, Dhaka University and Bijoy Sarani stations opened.

"Around 1 lakh 30 thousand to 1 lakh 56 thousand people are using the metro rail daily," Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) MAN Siddique said at a press conference held Thursday in the capital.
