Armed forces to be deployed from Wednesday

Armed forces will be deployed across the country on Wednesday (January 3) ahead of the 12th national elections.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued Tuesday, armed forces will be deployed under the scope of the constitution's 'In Aid to the Civil Power,’ to maintain the law-and-order situation of the country till January 10.

The army will be deployed in 62 districts. The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will work in 45 upazilas along the border. Moreover, the army will collaborate with the BGB in 47 upazilas, and with the coast guard in 4 coastal upazilas.

Meanwhile, the Navy will be deployed in 19 upazilas in total. The Bangladesh Air Force will offer necessary service in remote polling centres by helicopter.
