Bhola Master attacked by Shamim's men

In the 12th national elections, independent candidate of Faridpur-3 seat with eagle symbol A. K. Azad's election agent and senior politician of the district Shamsul Haque Bhola Master has come under attack around 5 pm on Saturday.

Bhola Master is the former chairman of Faridpur District Council.

The attack was carried out by activists and supporters of Shamim Haque, an Awami League nominated candidate for the same constituency, in Alam Molla Dangi area of the district. Six to seven more people were injured in the incident.

The injured Bhola Master was rescued and admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur.

Apart from Bhola Master, the names of Pannu, Sajeeb, Khokon Sardar and Qaiyum Hasan are among the others injured.

The doctors said Bhola Master had a wound in the middle of his head and it took four stitches. In addition, he was injured between his two eyes.

Meanwhile, a video of the attack on Bhola Master has gone viral on social media. It can be seen that the assailants came riding on 8-10 motorcycles and attacked the innocent Bhola Master.

Shoyebul, coordinator of the election management committee of Eagle symbol in Faridpur-3 constituency, said the boat workers-supporters made a surprise attack on Bhola Master to thwart our election.

He also said Bhola master was attacked under the leadership of local alleged terrorist Polash. Polash is Charmadhabdia Union Awami League General Secretary.

Faridpur District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Morshed Alam told The Daily Samakal that he heard the incident and sent policemen to the spot.
