Major General (retd) Salam wins Mymensingh 9

Awami League candidate Major General (retd) Md Abdus Salam has been elected unofficially from Mymensingh-9 constituency (Nandail) in the 12th parliamentary elections held Sunday.  

Returning Officer Arun Krishna Pal said, Abdus Salam secured 80,733 votes with Boat symbol while his nearest rival of independent candidate Anwarul Abedin Khan Tuhin bagged 59,586 votes with Eagle symbol.

Anwarul Abedin is the incumbent lawmaker of the constituency.
