9 held in anti-drugs drives across Dhaka

Members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several anti-drug drives arrested 9 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the last 24 hours.

The drives were carried out simultaneously at different parts of the metropolis from 6am on Monday to 6am on Tuesday, according to a DMP release.

During the anti-drug drives, police seized 186 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets and 1 kg 500 gm Cannabis (ganja), the release added.

Police filed 7 separate cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
