New cabinet to take oath on Thursday

The ruling Awami League, which won the 12th parliamentary election on January 7, will take the oath of office as the new government at 7 pm on Thursday.

Cabinet Division sources confirmed the news on Tuesday.

If Sheikh Hasina led the next government, she would be prime minister for a record four terms. 

The 12th national parliament's elected members will take the oath of office at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at around 10 on Wednesday.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhary, who won the Rangpur-6 seat, will be the first to take oath. She will next lead the oath-taking ceremony for the other MPs.
